What is the Token Vesting platform?

Protocol, Interface and Labs

We start by making clear the distinctions between the different pillars of the "Token Vesting" platform, to guide and clarify our narrative to new users and developers.

  • Dandelion Labs: The company which developed the Token Vesting protocol, along with the web interface.

  • The Token Vesting Protocol: A suite of persistent, non-upgradable smart contracts that together create automated vesting strategies, a protocol that facilitates transparent and secure vesting structures for ERC-20 tokens on any EVM-based blockchain.

  • The Token Vesting Interface: A web interface that allows for easy interaction with the Token Vesting protocol. The interface is only one of many ways one may interact with the Token Vesting protocol.

The following is a brief overview of the Token Vesting platform

Introduction

The Token Vesting protocol is a community-owned system designed to create vesting structures for cryptocurrencies (ERC-20 Tokens) on the EVM-based blockchains. The protocol is implemented as a set of persistent, non-upgradable smart contracts; designed to prioritise censorship resistance, security, self-custody, and to function without any trusted intermediaries who may selectively restrict or allow access to features.

The Token Vesting protocol is open source and licensed under GPL. Each instance of Token Vesting protocol, once deployed, will function within its lifetime and available in perpetuity, with 100% uptime, provided the continued existence of the Ethereum blockchain or any EVM-based ecosystem where it is deployed.

How does the token vesting platform innovates in the market?

The Token Vesting platform starts by agglomerating existing token vesting strategies and the knowledge about them within the same open-source project, allowing the blockchain community to easily implement and/or integrate token vesting solutions within their own ecosystems. There's not relevant innovation in the current implementation, however, the platform's technology roadmap aims to add complexity and layers of security, usability, user experience and to ease the development.

Our first and main goal is to provide developers with open-source tools that can be easily deployed and implemented for the most common and relevant use cases, but within the time we will be releasing further versions creating as well more abstraction from this part.
